Can I put a variable-speed blower in my existing furnace?

Blower motors can sometimes be upgraded to ECM equivalents for fan-efficiency gains, but true modulation is a system architecture — burner, board, and blower designed together. It's a replacement-time decision, not a retrofit.

Do higher tiers break more often?
